Don’t start bad habits

If you think about a healthy lifestyle, what do you think of? Is it a chicken – broccoli meal mixed with a hefthy amount of working out? While it is true it could be a healthy lifestyle, if you change up your meals once a while, it is not the only way.

When we don’t think about eating as part of a healthy lifestyle we will choose what tastes great. However if you decide you wanna eat healthier and still tasty it doesn’t have to feel like a chore. First thing for you to determine is if you have unhealthy habits. If you are going out with friends will you always go for the unhealthy option?

Find out your achilles’ heel of your eating choices and tackle it first. You can still eat out with your friends and have fun, but decide to complement it with a healthy choice. When ordering french fries order a slightly smaller soda or pick a water instead. Once you succeeded to do this you already won for 70%. The change is the hardest! After that it just takes time to abandon your bad habit completely or to make sure that it doesn’t stay a consistent bad habit anymore. Just a choice that you make once in a while.

At every new milestone lurking around the corner our lifes change. Going to your first year of university, obtaining your driver’s license, getting your first job. In all these situations your life will change and so will (or can) your habits. If you decided to become healthier these key changes in your life will determine how well you do. Build in new habits and even better don’t build new bad habits!

The best way to stop a bad habit is to never begin it. ―J.C. Penney

If you manage to stear away from adding new bad habits you are a already reaching your goals. The second step is to implement new healthy habits. It may not seem important at first. But changing your life starts with the small decisions that you make consistantly every day.

With your new milestone heading your way, decide which good habit you want to add to your routine!
