Worldwide a lot of countries have decided to keep people inside and to prevent movement out and about. Hard times require hard measures. How can we adjust our daily routines to keep movement in our life?
First off the measures taken in any country may differ from others. So you may or may not be allowed to go to your local gym or go for a run. So depending on where you live you might even still be allowed to go out there, at other places you are strictly being told to remain at home.
I love TV, I love writing, but I love movements more. – Jill Soloway
One unfortunate consequence of the measures is that many companies are closed. One the biggest problems is that it takes away our freedom to do what we want. We are not free to get the movement in as we would like. We can be in sorrow for this or look for alternatives to get us through these times. Instead of going to a gym you can turn a room at home into a homegym. If all the shops have already closed before you bought the needed materials don’t panic. There are still a lot of possibilities for you to work around the measures.
When you haven’t bought any free weights to be lifting at home be creative and look for the items you have at home with a certain weiight behind them. This can go from bottles of waters, bags filled with books to chairs. You can find movement and possibilities in every corner as long as you are willing to look for them. In a couple of countries it is completely forbidden to leave your house, in other countries it is still allowed to go for a walk near your home as long as you do it alone. Take this opportunity if it arises to get some fresh air while you still can.
Look at the things you are still allowed to do in your country and adjust where needed. It is still possible to get movement in. If there is no other way you can attempt to go for a walk indoors. Your body may notice a difference in the air, but it doesn’t in the amount that you move. Movement inside can be just as good for your body and the ones outside.
