Saying no when you want to say yes

refuse
You can say no

A lot of activities in life are challenging to refuse. However it’s only at the moments where you want to say yes, but say no that you will shine.

It’s easy to give in to the temptations of life. Resisting them will allow you to have more time for activities that bring up opportunities. If you for example refuse to constantly scroll through your social media you have time to spend additional time learning a language, reading a book or even learn to play music. The activities that take a longer time to learn are the ones that will help you in the long run.

It’s a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it. –  W. Somerset Maugham

Value your time by not doing things that don’t fit in your plan, dare to say no. Saying no will show what boundaries you set and will in turn allow you to only accept the best.

Between yes and no there is also a grey area. What if you say “yes, but…”? Someone may offer you to go out on friday evening to go and have fun, this might mean go and have a couple of drinks. Going out with friends and having a drink may fit in your plan, but drinking the entire night doesn’t. Well, then don’t refuse to go out, but dare to say no continue drinking past the limit you set yourself.

This grey area may also change the longer you are aiming for your goals. You can slowly set your boundaries stronger, when people around you realize how firm your boundaries are they will no longer challenge them. Or they may challenge them already knowing that they wont break them. Stick to your plan and refuse what is not in line with it. This may be that you decide to smoke less or stop it completely, don’t allow anyone to change your goal.
