The importance of healthy relationships

Spend time with your family and friends

There are only 24 hours each day to spend, how you use them is up to you. Spend your time wisely. When you are out there not knowing what to do reach out to a friend of your family. See if they have some time to share. Family and friends love to plan activites with you, but having a spontaneous moment to share is suprisingly more satisfying.

Spending more time with your loved ones will even boost your health. Especially your mental health will improve greatly if you have strong relationships. Something that is even more important is that you get to know what is going on in the lives of your family and friends. They can share their hapiness or you can support them in a difficult time. Friends don’t always share difficult times. If you reach out to them they can tell you more. People’s schedules are completely filled but finding time for close ones is important.

My schedule can be hectic, so I’m always trying to find time to see my friends and family. – Jessica Szohr.

Haven’t talked in a while to a good friend of yours? Reach out to them and reconnect. You will not only re-enjoy fun times but you will create new ones. Your long lasting friend might just need the talk to stay motivated to persist towards their goals.

Had a difficult fight with a family member and haven’t spoken to them in a while? Regardless on the past and the in- and outs of the relationship at least consider getting in contact with them. Give them a call, a text or even send them a letter. Trying to reconnect with them is difficult, but in the long run even an attempt will start the healing process. If one of you isn’t ready for it yet, don’t force it. But be open about your intentions and talk about how the relationship could be fixed.

You will always remain family in good and bad times. Make the most out of while you can! Your friends and family can help you reach your health goals. Be an inspiration to them to change their lifestyle.
