Difficult test ahead? Take a good night’s rest.

Sleeping can be the solution

We all know how it feels. We want to revise one more chapter before that big test tomorrow. What should you do, read it again or go to bed? It can actually be better to give your mind the rest it needs and let things go how they come.

Repeating the pages over and over and night barely do anything for your results. What it provokes is a sleepy and fogged mind on the day of your test. Exams require you to link parts of your course together. This is best achieved by a clear and fresh mind.

I’m going to sleep well tonight knowing that I made the right decision. – George Ryan.

Taking the decision to go for a, earlier, sleep is a hard one. But your mind will thank you for it in the morning. These feelings will even be more crucial if you are having an oral exam. Because both your mind and your body will feel the effects of a good night’s rest.

The benefits of sleeping don’t only apply to the night right before your important test. You can improve every part of your life by paying attention to your sleeping routine. When you sleep enough your mind will intertwine study material so you can remember it better.

Allthough sleeping is a good thing for improving your studies, it isn’t always ideal. Taking naps in your breaks aren’t advised. The more naps you take your night will be less rewarding. It will take you longer to fall asleep and stay asleep. A nap should only be used when you are extremely tired and you would fall asleep on your books. Instead of waiting for the moment you pass out you can take a quick 20-30 min nap to recover.

Tomorrow we will release some tips on how to improve your sleeping routine during and after your exams.
