Something is only as positive as it makes you feel

How do you feel? 

There are many goals to strive for in life. While a lot of goals are considered to be of great benefit it will only shine through for you if you get those positive vibes from it. For example sport is healthy, but it if you dread going to the training every single time then that sport may not be for you.

Sometimes we aspire to achieve a very interesting goal, but we don’t know how far we should take it. For example becoming healthy through enough movement is very admirable. Weightlifting will improve your strength, possibly your endurance and your body image and how your body looks will improve. While this type of sport might be one of the best improvements for your life it may not be for you. If you only manage to continue working out for 6 months and then give up due to boredom it wasn’t your best option. Maybe if you invite friends or family to go for a walk you would maintain your extra movement for many years to come.

To figure out if something is positive you have to try it out. There are plenty of ways to achieve what you are set to do. For example you might be setting yourself up for taking care of your parents when they get older. You could support them financially when they are still able to do the things themselves. The older they get they might need more support close to their home. If you are earning a lot you might consider supporting them financially is the best option. While it may be the most efficient, seeing your most now and then and help them out directly will do something extra for them and for you.

Many positive things have a long list of benefits. For example eating healthy benefits you on a lot of areas, but how much advantages you have depends on how you implement it. For example forcing yourself to eat healthy will demotivate you to sustain the healthy lifestyle. If instead you start to enjoy eating healthy by not giving up too much old habits at once you will like it more. The more enjoyable it is the easier it becomes, the longer you will maintain it and the bigger the benefits become.
