Problems can arise at any moment in our life, how they influence our live is dependant on how bad they are but mainly how we deal with them.
When we are going to an exam we panic, when we receive the grades we panic, when we failed the exam we panic, same thing goes for when we miss the bus, don’t get the job, when we are 5 minutes late and so on. These problems all have in common that they can happen to anyone, they will happen to anyone and they are not as bad as we think they are. When our ancestors had something they were stressed about was when they didn’t succeed to find food several days in a row, when they broke their leg so they couldn’t hunt, or when a predator was chasing them down to eat them. Our stress levels stem from the time that we could be eaten at any point in the day or the night. Nowadays most people don’t have that risk waiting for them at every corner.
I advise you to say your dream is possible and then overcome all inconveniences, ignore all the hassles and take a running leap through the hoop, even if it is in flames. – Les Brown
We forget how lucky we are that we aren’t living 500 years ago. Back in those days you could have the greastest disaster of life: death, at any moment. Now we have natural disasters that can kill us, other humans and animals can still kill us, but nowadays it mainly happens when we are acting stupid against them. Now we fight again inconveniences. Being 5 minutes late for work, misshing your buss to go shopping, unable to go food shopping today and others. They are no longer risking our death rather make us feel uncomfortable or make us lose some time. Ignore the inconveniences in life that are trivial, look at the big picture and how you see yourself in 20 years. Work towards it and don’t pay attention to the background noise.
When you accept that the daily problems you are facing are unimportant you can see which steps you can take in your life to improve yourself. For example if your job is to help people trying to lose weight by creating a meal plan for them and motivate them to work out. If a mere 5% of the people you support is unable to lose weight it doesn’t mean that you are failing at your job. Rather there are always some people who either fail to follow tips or who just aren’t ready to change their lifestyle for the better. So instead of worrying yourself about losing your edge focus on the people who really want to improve. Learn ways to motivate anyone, yet there will always be people who aren’t ready for the change.
