You get what you are focussed on even if it’s bad

Focus on what is important for you

Focus is very strong, spend time on your priorities and you will get more of it. Ask the biggest sportsmen of all time and you will notice how important it was for them to focus specifally on their sport.

We hear about people who don’t have their finances organised. When you tell yourself you have issues with organising your finances and therefore don’t look at your finances you are doing something wrong. That your current situation isn’t great doesn’t hurt, but that you aren’t spending time to improve it will hurt you in the long run. The people with the worst finances often times don’t look at their finances, don’t set a plan, don’t create a budget they do nothing to change how it looks today. If you are focussed around how your finances are bad and that you will get financial problems you will work towards it. However if you approach it from a positive angle and continue to look for solutions and pay attention to getting your finances organised you will do a lot better.

It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light. – Aristotle Onassis

In any situation you can go both ways, either being drawn in to the negative side or picking the right direction you want to move towards. An example is you could undergo a medical emergency, this could cause you to not trust your body anymore and think badly about it all the time. Alternatively you can listen to the doctors what the reason of the emergency was and how you can avoid it in the future. Maybe by switching a tiny bit in your daily life to have a big possibility of never having it happen again. Think and perform on what is important for you and you will attract more of it. This is how “normal” person can become famous in sports while having no background or family in the sport.

Create your attention around something that is important and you will work towards it with everything you can. If however you are blurring the goal you are basically paying attention to the things that are negatively impacting the goal you set for yourself. An example you set a goal for yourself to become healthier to be able to see your children grow up. You start finding a method of movement for example running. Because you like to run you start slow but build up quickly and start searching for ways to run marathons. Instead of keeping your initial goal in mind you could be forcing yourself too much and get injured. You can recover from the injury but if you keep falling back into injury it might be time to consider where you focus lies.
