Enjoy your time without phone

Our society

What do you think if you see the picture above? If this situation is familiar to you unfortunately you are not alone. Many of our day to day moments are centered around our phone use. It doesn’t have to stay this way.

Long ago I banned the use of my phone when I’m with someone. At first it wasn’t an easy choice, but it was that a choice. You have the right to decide how much or how little you want to use your phone. Banning my phone was the best decision I made in a long time. It instantly improves the situations where you normally look on your phone while being with someone. When you make the conscious decision of no longer using your phone for useless activities people around you will notice it. Before you know it they will reduce the use of their phone and you will create a much stronger connection.

I don’t like it when people remain glued to their phones while talking, so I have no apps on mine. – Fawad Khan

How everyone will use their phone in the future starts with you. If you make it acceptable not to constantly be using your phone the people around you will slowly do the same. When you are meeting some of your friends outside at a summer evening what will you be doing? Sitting together while some of your friends are scrolling through their social media accounts?

You can decide to enjoy the moment talking with your friends, walking in a relaxing landscape or just sitting next to each other enjoying the nice evening in silence. Our society is always so busy that we forget that it’s possible and even enjoyable to be doing nothing at all. Next time you feel inclined to take your phone out without reason, except for comfort, leave your phone in your pocket for a little bit longer.

When you postpone taking your phone out for just another minute you might enjoy your time even more. The longer you are able to avoid using your phone the better you will become at it and the more enjoyable it will be.
