Attempt to learn from others

Knowledge is power. When growing up we learn new things at school, from teachers, parents, friends. But what if we could also learn from meeting new people? We are often so focussed on ourselves and even more on our phones, but why wouldn’t you try to speak with people around you?

How does a newborn learn new things? Do they read books to learn how to walk? No, they are taking in everything that happens around them, they practise, fall and get back up. They look at the people around them and they learn from the tips they receive from their parents. One of their methods of learning is even more important, that is how they learn their mother tongue. A great example is bilingual parenting. Children that consistantly are being spoken to in two languages will have no problem speaking both languages without any problem.

A single conversation across the table with a wise man is better than ten years mere study of books. – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

When studying certain subjects at school you listen to your teachers and before your exam you study the books. This is the best method available for you to do your best at your exam. However after graduation reading text books is not the single best option to choose for. To know the best method for you there is only one person who can tell you what will be your best bet. That person is you. Out of everyone on the world you are the one who has the find the right method for learning.

A great option you have to consider is looking for succesfull people and starting a conversation with them. It’s true that finding the right person is one of the difficulties for this learning method. Even more difficult is creating an opportunity for yourself to have an honest, deep conversation on topics that you want to learn from. No matter what the situation drives the conversation to, use the moment to learn from it.

Find the people around you to learn from and use it for your daily life.
