Aim for your dreams by transforming them into goals

What are your dreams?

Everyone has it own sets of dreams. Mostly they are aiming at something so large that it’s very difficult to impossible to obtain. The only method of ever unlocking your dream is by setting a goal to obtain it.

For example a goal might be to be able to buy your dream car or to never have to worry about money ever again. In life there are so many costs that have to be paid every month. So if you have a money goal you can’t just hit those dreams without focussing what is important for you. If you aim for that very specific expensive car it’s unavoidable to prevent buying a new car every 4 years. Because if you are focussing on having a brand new car every few years you will be spending lots and lots of money every time you drive them home.

A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement. – Bo Bennett

If the dream is a money goal you will have to allow yourself to save money. Don’t spend money on things that don’t mean anything to you. Save and invest the money so that once you really need the money you’ll have it available. For example if you don’t want to worry about money when you stop working you have to plan your finances ahead of time. From the moment you start focussing on achieving your dream you are transforming the dream into a goal. Instead of having that extremely impossible dream somewhere in the far future you will break it down in smaller chunks.

Obtaining big dreams are never done in a short amount of time. If you want to become the healthiest person in the city so you can enjoy life the longest you start taking small steps. You shouldn’t switch up your life from 0 to a 100 in one day. Rather choose things to focus on first. Start drinking a glass of water when you wake up. Eat on less cheat meal a month and keep on thinking about ways you can gradually change you life. When the steps seem too big and you are afraid you will fall back into old habits take a step back. It’s much better to stick to your good habits for 3 months, take a break of a week and then continue. This is much better than being solely focussed on your goal for 6 months to end up being burned out and giving up completely.

Rome wasn’t built in one day, neither does your perfect body or you ideal finances.
