Balance between work and life

Balance work
Balance

We all need to work to take care of our family, at the same time we have to spend time with them. Some people make it look easy, but combining the two is not necessarily easy.

When we are young we try to balance studying, enjoyment and being with our family once in a while. That is all doable, but once we start getting more responsibilities it becomes a lot harder. That is where trying to find a balance comes in. When you are struggling to pay your mortgage, clothing or food you are out of balance. You will have to focus heavily on work related goals. Work some overtime, take on a second job or focus on improving your skills to go for a higher paying job.

There is no substitute for hard work. – Thomas A. Edison

Paying attention to your work is a good thing to think about. However it shouldn’t be all work either. If you focus on work because you are struggling financially, find ways to enjoy time with the people you love without paying money. You don’t have to go for a couple of drinks or a dinner to be with your friends and/or family. You can just as easy invite them to go for a nice walk. You will be meeting up with them and at thee same time you will become healthier.

The other side from the coin is that you should’t be cutting corners on your work either. If solely focus on enjoyment and being with friends and family your work will suffer. Solely being at your job without giving your best could suffice for a while. But the longer you do this the more risk you have that someone else will surpass you. Your employer will start to look for someone to replace you. Having this happen will bring you on a route of a lot of pain and uncertainty. Don’t have this happen to you and your family.
