Our body is our greatest advantage in live. When we think about our health we should always priorotise our body. Not our looks but how we feel in our bodies is what really counts.
Unfortunately many women get diagnosed with breast cancer. If this happens in an early stage it has the least amount of complications and the best chance on recovery. Checking regularly for possible lumps is a great start. This is however not the whole story. Breast cancer can be found without ever having felt a lump. To be completely sure you should talk to a doctor and get a check up.
It drove home, personally, the value of early detection and education and intervention. – Janet Napolitano
The least you can do to think about your health is bringing the topic up on your next trip to the doctor. If the appointment is this month there could be some extra’s offered by the doctors. In some countries and parts of countries the check up, called a mammography, is free during the month october. Let this be an extra incentive to go for a check up.
Considering it is the month of raising awareness talk to your close family about it. If breast cancer runs in your family there is an increased risk. That being said if you are going for the check up, talk to your friends and explain the importance of a regular visit.
Lastly there is the age on which you should start going for check-ups. Due to my lack of medical education there will be no recommendation on the starting age. If you don’t find a lump undergoing a mammography could harm instead of help. If breast cancer occurs in your family a more frequent check up is advised. Talk to your doctor or a specialist to determine what is best for you.
