Building a healthy relationship with weight

Create you balance with weight

People have a different connection with their own weight. Some find it easier to sit on a low bodyweight others generally have more weight. Everyone is different, when you see two similar people they can have totally different metabolisms. This means that your body burns calories when doing activities and when resting. At a younger age we typically have a higher metabolism, meaning that you can eat more calories while staying at the same bodyweight.

In our society we tend to focus mainly on the number that the scale says. However that is not the most important part. How healthy you are determines how good you feel. You can have some extra weight and still feel healthier than before. The factor that determines how you feel is how healthy you eat. Everyone knows how important it is to eat healthy, however we don’t always follow the ‘health rules’ that everyone is aware off. Figure out for yourself how important your health is and what degree of health you want to strive for.

I believe that the greatest gift you can give your family and the world is a healthy you. – Joyce Meyer

It is said that you are what you eat. Depending on how healthy you eat your health will be influenced. Becoming and staying healthy is not an end goal in itself. It’s the comfortable life that you will obtain when you become healthy that is the goal. You will be ready to take on any challenge that comes your way.

Health is really important in everyone’s life. But it’s you alone who can decide how you think about health and the link with your weight. Don’t be afraid to look at yourself in the mirror. See how your body looks and determine if you want to change your eating habits. If you want to change something look for alternatives that attract you. Don’t focus on the things you are going to step away from, but look at the tasty new options that you create. Start to appreciate the little things in life while not discarding your old habits. Do you like a trip a fast food meal once in a while? Be sure to not cut them out completely, just say no to them a little more often.

The only way you can change your life is by adding micro adjustements to your life. Don’t go ‘on’ a diet. Rather go for a different look at life. Add in enjoyable small healthy options that you are willing to enjoy instead of banning your earlier choices.
