Value your goals

Aim for the stars by setting your goals high. The only way to achieve big goals is by taking it step by step going towards the end goal. Find people who have completed the goals you want to achieve, ask them what they advise you to reach it. Everyone getting to those big goals know how hard it has been to come near them.

Actually arriving at your end goal should never be an all or nothing story. With every step you take you notice you get closer to your goal. Not only will you reach your goal you will also notice changes in your vision towards the goal and life itself. You only will know how it feels after arriving there. Take your fitness journey as example. After due time you will start enjoying working out and keep on progressing further in your workouts and in your life. Once you achieved your fitness level you wanted you will feel a lot of physical and mental changes.

What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. – Zig Ziglar

I would argue there is never an end goal. When setting up your goal you have a certain finish line in sight. However this line will change when you are on your way there. Let’s look at setting a goal in playing a music instrument. Before learning the instrument you tend to want to be able to play a certain song with a certain level of precision. However when learning the song you notice that you enjoy playing an instrument and that you want to learn more song. After learning more of them you also realise that you are able to play them perfectly if you practise enough.

When your goal has been met, stay humble about it. Actions say more than words ever can. Enjoy the rewards of obtaining your goal and work towards other and bigger projects. The more of them that you achieve the more confident and more skilled you will become. As a side benefit you will also be able to have more conversation topics to participate in.

Let us know what goals you are working towards and how difficult you believe they are. When you have achieved them you can return and see how you set your goal and how you actually surpassed your own expectations.
