Social media wants us to believe that it is very difficult to lose weight. That it is only obtainable if we follow a strict diet, that they get paid for, and if we follow them for motivational speeches.
It is true, if you want to cause a huge impact on your life following a diet will help. It will impact your life, but not necessarily in the good way. Becoming obsessed about food and losing lots of weight in a short amount of time is never good. We should all strive for a long healthy life. Not a short healthy-look-alike period while we are on a diet and then returning to our old habits. From now on stop going on diets and change your life one step a time.
Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy medicine. -Hippocrates
To make a lasting effect avoid looking for shortcuts, magic food receipts and amazing workout routines. Take your life into your own hands. Start changing your life slowly by adding good habits into your life. One of them is by searching foods that you know are healthy, but more importantly, that you like! If you like what you eat it wont feel as restriction on your life. It will be just casually eating to a better life. If you feel like taking a small bite from “cheat food”, go ahead and do it. Because if you constantly deprive yourself from what you like you will bounce back hard or even quit forever.
As long as you are enjoying what you do you will continue. This brings in the main aspect of a healthy lifestyle: consistancy. Once you manage to follow through it will get better. Consistancy is not the problem, but it is the solution. Take small steps before even thinking about reaching your big goal. Turn the small steps into habits and before you know it people will see the change, you will feel it and people will complement you. Before long you will end up in a virtious circle. You will enjoy your road to health and become healthier with every step you take. Once you arrived there it is time to share with people how they can follow in your footsteps.
