Healthy mindset towards change

change
Do you want to remain in the same situation or change your future?

In first instance most people prefer to keep everything as it is, aslong as everything goes well. A well know idiom is: ‘If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it.’ This refers to people who think everything is greener at the other side. For example when you are working a job for a couple of years and something unfortunate happens, people would like to change jobs to end up in a better place. However every job has something less pleasant, it doesn’t necessarily make it better to move to a different company.

When you are unhappy at your current job moving to a different doesn’t automatically make it better. Another more difficult route to take is by trying to change how things work at your job. What aren’t you happy about? Get a honest talk with your boss about what is the problem and how you can solve it. If there is no way to change it you may want to change your thoughts. Are you the one working the hardest of all the employees? Stop being hurt about it, but see the opportunity arising from it to become the best of everyone beyond any doubt. The better you become the easier you will have it later on in life.

If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. – Maya Angelou

In other situations it does make sense to do something different by going for a change. A great example for it is taking on challenges, either by those you put on yourself or those that others challenge you to do. A change in your ways can be very difficult but also very worthy. It can lay in simple methods, like doing something productive every single day. This can be learning a language, writing an article or reading a couple pages every day.

There is no point in stressing about the things that never get changed or seeing changes coming that you would like to avoid. Look at the situation and see how you can strive under these circumstances. Are you standing in front of a difficult moment? Don’t want to start with the activity? Make sure to follow the 2-minute rule. If something looks daunting just start with it and push through to 2 minutes. When you achieved that time limit you may have completed your goal or at least opened an opportunity for further development. More on this rule in our next article.
