Let’s take a moment to think about all the people we have lost: Family members, friends. If we see someone who might have a difficult time we sometimes think that they will reach out to us for help. However if you know someone who has a troublesome period, do the difficult thing and reach out to them. Let them know that you are there for them whenever they are ready.
Notice someone you have never seen before, who seems to be in pain? Start a conversation with them or great them with a welcoming, warm, smile. Who knows this might be the start of a wonderfull new friendship. It is the simplest, yet the most important thing to do: reaching out to people. It does not matter what you say, or how you say it. Just let them know they are not alone.
One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone. – Shannon L. Alder
Are you right now going through a difficult time? This will not last, you have to get through it. But you are not alone. Reach out to people, who you know or who you have never seen before. Start a conversation with the friendly looking woman at the busstation. It can start with some simple small talk. But without knowing it can end up in a very open and deep conversation.
Let us use 10 september of every year to think about how we can implement these actions in our life. Let us think about friends, family and coworkers that we meet very often or just once in a while. Imagine their lifepath and how difficult they may have had it. When you meet up take the time to actually listen to what they have to say and even more important what they don’t say.
