Talking about mental difficulties

In today’s society we see all kind of posts on social media, where we feel that everyone’s life is great. Something that we quickly forget is that the only thing that is getting posted are the positive, happy moments.

Open yourself up to people and show some mental vulnerability. When you do this you will feel a lot better and create space to become mentally even stronger. People often say that we have to be tough in every situation and show no sign of weakness. This will make people believe that everything is going great. But it internally it feels so wrong to lie about it.

The problem with our mental health that we need to open up before it can be improved. When we have a slight issue it is ok to talk about it to prevent further issues. Friends and families are here for us. When we take the first step our friends and family are aware and can help us through it.

During calm moments take some time to offer help to your relatives. Ask them if everything goes well and really listen to what they say and what is not being said. Let’s break this taboo once and for all.
