Everyone has their own set of goals, there are different methods for reaching your goal. How hard are you trying to achieve what you are aiming for?
To shoot for the stars we often take the simple route that we think that will achieve what we are aiming for. For example if we want a promotion we think that having someone put in a good word for us should be plenty to achieve the promotion. However the most important part is how you perform and how your performance is being perceived by the boss, your colleagues and especially also the clients. The difficult things in life will not be achieved untill you switch from the easy route to the more difficult one. Everyone can make food to survive, but not everyone is willing to actually cook, let alone cook healthy, to become healthy. It’s not that one time you cooked that will make you healthy but it’s staying consistent with the good habits that will get you what you dreamed of.
Do what is right not what is easy – Roy T. Bennett
The moment that you find the good habit you will realise that it’s difficult to keep the habit going. However it’s staying consistent with it that will make the difference and help you reach your goal. Don’t say to your friends and family that you are commiting to something rather commit to it and let the results speak for themselves. From the moment you hear others talk to you about your immense consistency you know you did something right all along. These days staying consistent on one path is rather the exception. You hear everyone setting goals for themselves, posting it on social media talking about it to everyone they know. However from the moment you kept going with it for a couple of years you notice that you have been the exception for all these years.
Another example why the best practices are the most difficult is if you consider what you need to do to eat healthy. Yes, cooking that meal takes some time, but think about when you want to go out eating. There is a fast food chain around every corner, the place with the healthy food is more expensive. All the unhealthy food are placed most visible in the shop. You have to really find the things that are healthy, it’s not that easy to find it. Ater you found it you notice that the price is higher than other food. Another example is if you want to become an expert in a certain field for example to become a great sprinter. You could have talent for sprinting, hire a coach to improve your performance, there are even forbidden methods of enhancing methods to get a short time edge. But what really makes you the best in the area is to commit to what is the hardest: constant practise and pushing yourself to new levels. No amount of tips can help you so much as consistent practise will help you.
