Remember that intense workout that you dreaded so much? How did you feel afterwards? There are different answers possible. If you felt terrible afterwards you either had a great workout and used up everything you had during your workout. Great! You know how to push yourself and to improve heaps afterwards. You could also feel terrible and also be terrible after your workout. You pushed to far past your boundaries. Now it is time to recover. For the next workouts you know exactly how far you can push yourself.
The third option is that you didn’t feel terrible because of the workout. But you notice that the workout wasn’t what you wanted it to be. You didn’t push yourself enough, you kept it a steady workout. There is nothing wrong with having a workout where you didn’t achieve what you set yourself up to do. It is just one of those days where not everything went as you planned.
I bike everywhere. It’s a good workout, and it’s so much fun. – Nina Agdal
Aslong as you succesfully push through your workout, consider it as a succes. If people say they never had a bad workout they are either lying or they are called Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Having a day where things just don’t feel right are perfect moments to take a rest day. If you don’t have a rest day left allowing yourself to ease through the workout it the best you can do. Likely it wont be your best workout. But it will be a moment to remember. Don’t forget how you pushed through that difficult time and succesfully climbed the mountain.
Having a offday before you start your workout can also be a blessing towards your goal. You can prove to yourself, no matter what happened, you can still boost your workout to a great ending. You can use your day to propel your workout to a level you have never felt before. Use your mind to purposely put all your emotions in your workout to push through a plateau.
